University of Cincinnati students and alumni are invited to the semi-annual Professional and Technical Career Fair on February 7, 8 and 9.
The Professional Day, Tuesday, tends to focus on roles in business, while Wednesday’s and Thursday’s Technical Days focus on engineering and information technology (IT), but students and alumni of all majors, both undergraduate and graduate, are welcome to attend.
The fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day in the Campus Recreation Center. In addition, most of the companies hiring specifically in construction, civil engineering and architectural engineering will be concentrated in the Tangeman University Center on Wednesday and Thursday.
More than 380 companies will be on campus to fill co-op or internship positions and post-graduation jobs. Job seekers should check the employer list carefully before the fair to see which companies are coming, on which days and in which location, so they don’t miss good opportunities.
Green Jobs Initiative
New this year, companies that offer jobs in sustainability will be highlighted during the fair with signs at their table and in a handout on site.
What to Bring
Students should bring 5-10 copies of their resume, a notepad and pen, and their Bearcat Card (student ID). Students may pre-register, but it is not required.
What to Wear
Job seekers should dress professionally. UC students can get deep discounts on professional clothing and accessories during the JC Penney Suit Up event online Jan. 23-30 or in person at the Eastgate Mall store Jan. 29. In addition, students who qualify can pick out professional clothing for free from the Bearcats Pantry Career Closet which will operate a satellite location nearby during the fair.
