Bearcats Bound Orientation
We are delighted your student has chosen the University of Cincinnati as to be their next chapter, and we are confident you'll find their experience to be a remarkably rewarding one.
Our top priority is to assist your student in making a successful academic and social transition into the Cincinnati community. For this reason, all new students are required to attend an orientation program before their first semester of classes.
The in-person orientation gives students and their families an introduction to campus life. During this part of BBO, you will get an overview of campus, see some of the classrooms, attend sessions on different campus life topics, and meet other new Bearcats and their families. Students will also schedule their first academic advising appointment with their advisor. Students can find in-person orientation dates and registration information in the Bearcat Portal.
The following schedule is an example of what in-person orientation typically looks like. Students will be able to access their actual schedule in the Bearcats Bound Orientation app, closer to their orientation date.

Now that you have a better idea of what BBO is, make sure your student registers for the in-person orientation. We also strongly encourage you to familiarize yourself with this webpage for more information about steps you can take as a family member to ensure the best possible experience.
We encourage you to make the most of your orientation and set the foundation for a successful University of Cincinnati undergraduate experience.
During your student's college session at Bearcats Bound Orientation, they will learn more about their college's resources, support staff, and ways to be successful. With the help of their college's advising staff, Student Orientation Leaders, and their Student Orientation Assistant students will schedule their first academic advising apointment through My Bearcat Network.

My daughter just decided to commit to UC. Does anyone have any idea when orientation dates are and how she should register? She checked the bearcat portal but only sees July 11th as an option and cannot register for it.
Do parents go to the orientation or just students
My son is committed to UC Business. We are from Columbus, and anyone from Columbus would really love to connect. Thank you.
