Student Activities & Leadership Development

Purposeful Student Engagement

Student Activities & Leadership Development (SALD) supports the mission of the University of Cincinnati by promoting and guiding purposeful student engagement, fostering a sense of community, providing opportunities of student growth and leadership development. We aspire to create an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and enhances our students’ ability to become global citizens. SALD's Programs & Activities Council (PAC) is a student-run organization that creates free programming on campus, including speakers, concerts, comedians, and more.

Clubs & Organizations

SALD is home to UC's student organizations and clubs. One of the best ways for students to get involved and to build their community at UC is to join a student organization. We have over 400 student organizations at UC that support a variety of interests and themes ranging from cultural, academic, social, to political/activist, and more.

Leadership Opportunities

SALD offers leadership programs to help students become the best version of themselves by living their values and purpose through actions and standards. Camp Bearcats is UC's leadership institute for incoming first year students. The Student Leadership Conference focuses on building individual student leader skills and connections. The Student Leadership Certificate is an academic credit certificate that combines formal classroom instruction with out-of-class experiences to help students learn, grow, and engage.

Social Change

SALD challenges students to become engaged, global citizens and to examine contemporary issues related to systems of difference and inequality to empower them as agents of change in creating a socially just community. Signature social justice programming includes the Racial Awareness Program (RAPP), Accelerating Racial Justice, and the Emerging Ethnic Leaders Institute.
