Next Steps for Financial Aid

  1. Complete the FAFSA. Have you and your student filed the 2020-21 FAFSA? If not, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible.
  2. Receive award offer. Has your student received an award offer? Students can check this under the My Finances tile in Catalyst, and parents can check in Delegated Access under View Financial Aid Awards.
  3. Complete verification process. Have you and your student completed verification? Students who are selected for verification will see Verify Data via Aid Portal on their Catalyst To Do List, and can upload documentation and sign forms in the Financial Aid Portal
  4. Accept financial aid. Has your student accepted your aid? Students can accept aid in Catalyst, under Accept/Decline Financial Aid, housed within the My Finances tile.
  5. Consider remaining costs. Have you reviewed any potential remaining costs, and looked at ways to cover them? Tuition costs for the 20-21 school year have been determined. This worksheet can help you review your costs, subtract your aid, and think about ways to cover remaining costs. Some families use a Parent PLUS loan, a private loan, or a tuition payment plan.

Once you have determined your financial aid processes are complete, it is time to start thinking about important upcoming dates. Student bills for Fall 2020 will be available in Catalyst by July 31, and will include the semester’s tuition, room and board charges, eBooks, and Student Health Insurance (if your student has not waived insurance in Catalyst). Financial aid will begin disbursing to student’s accounts on Friday, August 14, and direct deposit refunds will begin processing on Monday, August 17

Delegated access is a great way to help you keep track of your student’s billing, financial aid, and registration information.

Hi Tina - The bill is a fluid, working bill if that makes sense. So, charges are applied as they are received. So you may not see all final charges when your bill is first viewable, but they will be there before it is due....see more

Hi Thomas - At this point, your student can log in and accept financial aid. If you have questions, we recommend contact them directly at onestop@uc.edu because financial aid is so student-specific. Financial aid will begin to...see more
