Next Steps for Student Orientation

  1. UC email. Students are encouraged to check their UC email account frequently. Advisors and other UC staff have and will continue to share information that will be important to review. If your student does not know how to access their UC email, have them email orientation@uc.edu.
  2. Orientation Town Hall & Canvas Course. If your student has not completed Bearcats Bound Orientation, they will need to sign-up for a Town Hall via their unique link that was emailed to them. Additionally, students are required to complete the Bearcats Bound Orientation Course in Canvas. Everything they need to know or do is in the course. Students must complete all modules.
  3. Math Placement & Pre-Advising Survey. If not already completed, your student will need to take the Math Placement Test (MPT) and complete the pre-advising survey (emailed to them as a unique link).
  4. Advising & Course Registration. Each college manages the academic advising and course registration process individually. In some colleges, students may have already met with their advisor and/or registered, while other colleges may not have completed registration yet. Please reassure your student that they are still on track if they are not registered. During meetings with an academic advisor, your student should be the primary participant. We encourage you to talk with your student in advance about the types of questions they may want to ask during the session.
