Login to CatalystFall Semester permits will go on sale from Parking Services on July 13. There are a few changes to the parking process to share. Note: Returning and new students received this information via email.
Student permits will now be billed to your student's billing account through the Office of the Bursar. We highly recommend that your student purchase their permit online. All permits will be available online until they are sold out. We will update the status of each facility on our website as often as possible, but if the facility is not showing up on the portal where you purchase your permit, it means that it is sold out at that time.
The university announced that academic activities post-Thanksgiving will be online. In light of this announcement, a Fall Semester permit, expiring on November 25, 2020, will be offered at a lower rate. For those students who need to park after November 25, 2020, a Winter Break permit will be available. The Winter Break permits will be available for purchase online up through winter break.
To help ensure a smooth transition to normal parking operations, there will be a phased approach to lower the garage gates beginning August 9. This will allow us to assist customers in those garages in a timely manner. Once gates are lowered, you will either need to have a Fall Semester parking permit or pay the daily rate. Schedule for lowering the gates:
Parking Services uses license plate recognition, LPR, to enforce policies around parking. There will no longer be facility hangtags issued for those parking facilities that previously required it (e.g., Eden).
As a permit holder, the license plate serves as the permit. Therefore, it is required that your student keep their vehicle information updated in the parking system. This allows us to ensure they have a parking space and we can contact them in case of emergency. A video is available to show your student how to update their information online, or they can contact the Parking Office for assistance. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to keep vehicle information updated. Failure to do so could result in a citation or impoundment. Students are permitted to have more than one vehicle registered to their permit, but only one vehicle may be parked in the facility at a time. Please note, a UC Fast Pass is not considered a garage hangtag or proof of permit.
