University of Cincinnati students and alumni who are looking for full-time jobs, co-ops or internships can meet potential employers at seven virtual career fairs this semester:

  • Professional and Technical Career Fair, Feb. 9-10
  • Sales Expo, Feb. 23
  • Insurance Risk Management Career Fair, Feb. 23
  • Criminal Justice Career Expo, March 3
  • Communication and Public Relations Internship Fair, March 4
  • Arts and Sciences Career Fair, March 31
  • Southwest Ohio/Northern Kentucky Education Career Fair, March 31

With COVID-19 cases still high, the fairs will be hosted online using UC’s career platform Handshake, so participants can stay safely apart yet still meet their employment goals.

By bringing many employers together at one time, a career fair can be an efficient way for students to find resume-building work experience and for graduates to find jobs. Even if a person isn’t in the job market, a career fair can be a good way to learn about different organizations and career paths.

A virtual fair requires more up-front work than an in-person fair, from updating one’s online profile to signing up for timed sessions to meet with recruiters. UC’s Bearcat Promise Career Studio offers advice to help job seekers prepare for a career fair, including how to stand out at a virtual fair. Students and alumni can also take advantage of drop-in hours at the Studio.
